September 2012 NEWS LETTER

Recently, Philip Lynn made a visit to Ausgoat’s brand new goat handling facility in Cobar.

During his 2 days visit Philip was giving the depot staff a hand while suppliers delivered their goats and got an opportunity to catch up with Chris Bourke (pictured) for a chat whilst his goats were being weighed.

Together with depot manager Tim Walmsley they drove the Gattaca boundary and Philip and Tim decided it was time to invest in re-fencing of the entire boundary as well as establishing more yards and smaller paddocks. This improvement will provide the depot with 7 large day paddocks plus another 5 bigger outer paddocks as well as having all the back country available making up the 2500 acres of “Gattaca”.

Philip was also very impressed with Ausgoat’s investment in the new onsite 3 tonne Tru-Test weighbridge. Ausgoat is now able to weigh up to 50 goats at a time with improved speed and accuracy. Tim demonstrated how well the circular double lane yards and lift-up/load-out race were working.

All-in-all the visit to “Gattaca” was a great success and the Ausgoat office staff are now looking forward to their upcoming visit in November.

Ausgoat’s Cobar Depot is managed by husband and wife team Tim & Cassi Walmsley, who are featured in this month’s "Meet the Ausgoat Team".
